Daecon Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Are there any neurological effects from having a pair of magnets stuck in your ears for a few hours at a time?
insane_alien Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 unless they're strong enough to pull themselves through your skull, no.
Daecon Posted January 13, 2009 Author Posted January 13, 2009 So the prolonged exposure to small magnetic fields in each ear don't have any effect, or don't have any noticeable effect? They don't change the shape of your eardrums, aid circulation of the ear or help with balance, etc. even if you're unaware of it?
insane_alien Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 not that i'm aware of. the mgnetic fields produced are absolutely tiny.
iNow Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 You'd need a much stronger magnetic field (like one from an MRI machine) to have even a neglible effect. Taping a refridgerator magnet to your ear muffs will not result in anything but ridicule.
insane_alien Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 judging from the title, he meant the magnets in earphones like the ones you listen to music through. people with those are generally not ridiculed but considered to be listening to music and in extreme cases, rocking out on the air guitar.
