yo_wazzup41 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 acid is used as a catalyst for the reaction between propanone and iodine. what is the purpose of adding sodium hydrogencarbonate too in the reaction? im doing a report and i dont know how to answer this question can anyone help me thanks
hermanntrude Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 i dont think this is an order of reaction question. I suspect your answer lies in thinking about what the products of the reaction are and what will happen to them when they encounter sodium hydrogencarbonate
