swansont Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Characterizing this as a “hoax” is much too forgiving to Kirk. Terhune has been doing this kind of satire for years. Charlie’s just mad that he can’t recognize that form of humor.

Charlie’s just mad that he can’t recognize that form of humor. The gem here was that the real driver of that garbage truck happened to be a dead-ringer for Terhune - full face, balding head, and a flowing ginger/red beard. Brent said in another podcast that all he had to do was buy a cheap yellow HiViz jacket from a costume store, jam a black WCW forage cap on his head - and then turn the camera on ! I first saw one of Terhune’s videos back in September 2020, when he pretended to be one of the MAGA boat owners who had sunk on Lake Travis in Texas during a Trump boat parade. I had to watch that one twice to be quite sure it was a parody https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayCLE_ctpYg
J.C.MacSwell Posted November 4 Posted November 4 "They voted for Kamala after eating the pets that would have voted for me!" -Donald Trump on illegal aliens circa mid November 2024 Yeah I'm losing it...
toucana Posted November 4 Posted November 4 As it seems to be upsetting MAGA Republicans, Fox TV Hosts, and Russian Troll-bots alike - it's probably worth flagging up this mischievous and wittily written 'Go Vote' advert from the 'Vote Harris/Walz' campaign.

I'd rather they be completely uninformed than ill informed. If they do watch any news it has to be reruns of news from the fifties. Let them live their fantasy while the rest of the world moves on and leaves them behind!
TheVat Posted November 14 Posted November 14 https://theonion.com/heres-why-i-decided-to-buy-infowars/ The best part of the joke is that The Onion really did buy InfoWars (but for slightly different reasons than the "CEO" states above). https://www.theguardian.com/media/2024/nov/14/onion-info-wars-alex-jones Going to be smiling all day over that one. 1
TheVat Posted November 16 Posted November 16 This morning I saw a video of a man who voted for Trump because he wanted to kill Obamacare but now he is angry because he is unemployed and realized the ACA he depends on for his healthcare is Obamacare. I never thought leopards would eat MY face, sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating Peoples Faces Party. 3

In the version I saw, when it was explained to him, he then blamed the liberals for being stupid enough to have two names for the same thing. 1

In her defence, she thought it was other peoples faces that were going to be eaten... ...and now I notice the MY in capitals...
StringJunky Posted Sunday at 04:05 PM Posted Sunday at 04:05 PM I find this satirical view from Philomena Cunk quite funny: "“Newspapers are a sort of paper version of Twitter for your nan. Apparently, they still exist, but only outside petrol stations near the briquettes, behind little plastic windows, like a little news zoo. Newspapers were how people in olden times found out what was going on the day before. The words in the newspaper would be made up by people called journalists. A “journalist” is what we nowadays call a “content provider,” someone who copies and pastes what people are saying on Twitter and puts it into sentences, and it’s those sentences that make Twitter into news. But in newspaper times, people in the news didn’t just type up what they were thinking and doing, journalists had to actually go out and find out what was going on themselves, usually by hacking people’s phone messages. It was a different world.”
