ydoaPs Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 What's the deal with YouTube's new "turn down the lights" feature? There's a lightbulb icon above the videos and if you click it, the screen darkens around the video viewer.
Sisyphus Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 If you're asking what the point of it is, I'm guessing it's the same reason they darken theaters. Less distraction from the movie, more discreet making out, etc.
Sayonara Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 It's copied directly from Adobe Photoshop Lightroom's "Dim the Lights" feature. As Syphilis says, it's to help you focus your vision on the video by minimising visual distractions.
