I just had an E-mail from work, announcing it's 'International Women's Day', to commence on the 8th of March. We have Mother's Day, Father's Day even 'Talk like a Pirate Day' (my favourite day.)

So if you could propose a day, what would it be ?

I can't think of one yet, I suppose we could have, 'I can't think of a day...day.' But that's kinda lame.

`Support your Local Brewery` day :D

Isn't that called Saturday ;)

I think mine will be, 'International stand in a queue day.' Just because I know, everybody will dread that day.

International Hat Day?

I don't think there are enough hats going about. Mostly stupid ones with ear flaps and bobbles. Whatever happened to the trilby? (Actually, scrap that - Pete Doherty appropriated it for the indie crowd...)

How about International Step Parent day. A truley tough job, but worth the effort. Plus it could easily tie in with "Support Your Local Brewery Day". I sometimes reflect on my parenting over a pint of black ale.

Think for yourself day.

Think for someone else day.

I propose, these commence on the same day...to invoke maximum confusion.

International Hat Day?

Why the question mark ? <snigger> What a great day...though I am bias, because my parents are sure I was born with a hat on. I agree, I think hats have taken a turn for the worse recently.

I've noticed the ear flaps are rife, especially where I live (poncey fashion worshipping Brighton)...these were practically on every market stall in Peru. I guarantee the majority of people that don these ear flap hats, aren't aware that they stemmed from South American Indians, they're called Chullo's.

They seem to be an essential part of 'student wear' on my university's campus - those, and silly 'hippy' pseudo-headbands worn by the fairer sex ("I hate corporate fashion, but I love Topshop," seems to be the message).

I have an ear flap hat because one day I was really cold and there was a market stool selling ear flap hats in front of me, so I brought one. It has nothing to do with fashion and everything to do with keeping warm.

It has nothing to do with fashion and everything to do with keeping warm.

Maybe for you...I can assure you that's not the case where I live, well for most of the people I've seen wearing them, you know, when it's a nice sunny day.

But yes, they are warm, don't have one myself, based on the guy I was travelling with at the time, looked like an idiot. His face didn't really suit Indian head wear.

I'm going to stop typing now, because I'm celebrating YT's first suggestion, it's on Friday's where I live. tee hee

We could call it "today."

But that would be everyday...arrr, cunning iNow, cunning. :D

How about, 'Wearing a silly hat, whislt posting on a forum, talking to iNow day', I like this day...so I'll exercise my right, to celebrate this day.

The obvious one:

International Science Day

Celebrate by having science fairs/shows and taking your kids to them. Also celebrate it on TV for the lazy bums.

Well yesterday was 'what monumental repeated brain farts were being released when I did my last maths assignment day.'

I achieved well over a pass, (redeeming myself in front of my SFN peers) but it's the mistakes you dwell on, which is kinda productive if you want to make progress.

It may be a bit late, but I propose February 26th as "Alfred Beach Day" to honour all those who tried to make their dreams reality.
