the virus that causes rabies in dogs, enters our body thru cuts , travels upwards to brains and creates psychological changes that make the dog bite every one(run amok),so that it can propagate itself again

dont u think thats 2 smart/coincident?

no, i say this is Survival of the Fittest.

survive by any means possible and reproduce faster than would ensures the survivial of the species(in this case it's virii, but, same difference, really)

Virii is not a real word.

This is simply life cycle architecture that has, like the Admiral says, come about through natural selection. It might seem exotic or intentional, but it's no different to viruses recognising which cells to infect.

You need to be careful about this sort of analysis, because whereas you have interpreted that rabies travels to the brain to do its work, it's more likely that it travels through the blood or lymph systems aimlessley, and only acts in the brain, where its target cells are.

it all about survival....

thats true, but it could have chosen a way any other virus does.infect a host cell and multiply itself, defend itself by methods viruses do but it choses a alternative complex way which isnt eaisily explainable ......what abouts its pathogenesis

although I`m in entire agreement as to it being coincidental and that the side effect it creates by the "willingness" to bite (probably down to some form of insanity) is just the way that this particular Virus has come to rely upon over millenia, the Hydrophobia part is still quite intruging! of all the things that COULD go wrong at random in the brain, why the part of our brain that has something to do with water and why make us fear it?

Most Bizare! :)

I think the virus is very "Smart." It travels up your nerves, gets into your brain and takes over. Then it travels down to your salivary glands. It also causes severe throat spams that it's extremely painful to swallow, hence hydrophobia. The virus makes the infected mammal bite anything near it in order to spread.

JMHO of course.

Imagine the panic if it became airborne or mutated so mosquito's could spread it.......
