pinkdiva Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 This is part of my Biology assignment oh by the way, are succulents a plant species ? sorry if I'm really dumb on this but hey, nobody's perfect
Mokele Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 they are indeed plants; one of the botanists here works on them. Google around and you should find what you need; Wikipedia has some decent pages on them too.
jake.com Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 A little off topic, but I just bought a succulent plant from lowes called a split rock plant. Coolest little thing I ever saw.
BIOphile Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Jee, I haven't been on this in a long time. Succulents are indeed plants, and they're so..succulent to let them thrive in arid conditions. They retain water so they can survive long dry periods, as well as survive areas with high levels of dissolved minerals. They're found in dry areas of the tropics and subtropics, as well as on sea coasts and around salt pans. Just Google succulent plant, you'll find a ton of things on them. They have numerous other adaptions to their habitat that you could include in your Biology assignment. Hope this helps.
