HOOC-CH2-CH2-CH-CH2-CH2-COOH

Sorry, I am not able to type it more clearly. It's name is

4-carboxyheptane-1,7-dioic acid.

 

Can it also be called as pentane 1,3,5,tricarboxylic acid...

 

Pls help me in a vivid manner...

Can anybody pls take the pain of giving me the structure of 3-methyl2-oxapentane and can you pls explain me why is it not called as

2-methyl 2 butoxide

Are these two compounds analogous(isomers)

 

2-hydroxy-propane-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid

 

3-carboxy-3-hydroxy-1,5-pentanedioic acid

 

 

Then, how is the COOH group used in these two compounds( as a substituent or functional group).

 

As I am a starter, can u pls take the pain of explaining me in a enlarged mannner..
