blike Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 "Physicist Fotini Markopoulou Kalamara has developed a way to connect relativity with quantum theory--while making sure that cause still precedes effect" Basically they're developing an alternative to string theory. They call it "Loop Quantum Gravity". "In LQG, reality is built of loops that interact and combine to form so-called spin networks--first envisioned by Roger Penrose in 1960s." "Each spin netowrk resembles a snapshot, a frozen moment in the universe. Off paper, the spin networks evolve and change based on simple mathematical rules and become bigger and more complex,l eventually developing into the large-scale space we inhabit." I'm not sure how much I can quote from scientific american without getting in trouble Anyone heard of this? Is this anything to keep an eye on? You can find the article in the December 2002 edition of Scientific American on page 40.
fafalone Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 Get in trouble? I routinely post entire copyrighted works here, and no one has ever complained or asked for something to be removed.
