jersincl Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I wonder if and when we make actual contact with an alien being that it will be from the future creations of mankind? Possibly part computer and part biological. They have been able to transcend time with all the years of accumulation of knowledge and using that increase in knowledge to expand itself exponentionally compared to us? My idea of a movie screen play I'm working on. Think it'll sell?
Lan(r)12 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If you mean we came from aliens...then thats been done...its called panspermia. If you mean that we encounter aliens that are creations of ours that we havent created yet because they travle time, that might get a little confusing... Star Trek or something (i know, sacrilege not to know this lol) had a movie where they encountered a quasi-omniscient life form that called itself V-GER Turns out that is was the old "Voyager" and that it had gained sentience over the thousands of years it traveled...so that idea has kinda been done Sorry. But good luck with your writing
stereologist Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Maybe you could look at the movie Demon Seed for inspiration?

My idea of a movie screen play I'm working on. Think it'll sell? What do you mean they were able to transcend time? And what do you mean they use this increase in knowledge to expand itself exponentially compared to us-- sorry, I lost, you, expand whatself? knowledge? It's a bit unclear, can you explain?
Kaeroll Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I think the idea jersincl is suggesting is that aliens we encounter today may be the product of evolution or technology long in the future, which have developed time travel due to a huge increase in knowledge. Maybe I misunderstand.
