Sayonara Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 245.7 kilobits per second fast enough for posting replies Don't use that site - it's pretty inaccurate* for the UK. Try a speed tester that's based over here. * as in +/- up to 80%
Sayonara Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 I had one in my bookmarks but it seems to be gone I'm sure google will know of several.

I have to use a free proxy server when I want to visit an overseas website, which lowers the speed greatly, or I have to pay out a lot of money for accessing to overseas website directly. Slow as it is, I still enjoy visiting this Scienceforms.

albertlee Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 Any way, this is just my opinion..... I have 3 megabit tested by the link in the first message...and I use Cable I dont think it really matters on "ur" speed for downloading as long as yours is broadband....because mostly, to me, the speed really depends on the site where u r downloading........ albert
aommaster Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 the speed really depends on the site where u r downloading........ You may be half right on this one, in my opinion. Sometimes, a site can get crowded, and in that case, slow down your download speed. But, the main thing that slows down a site's speed is the content that needs to be downloaded. If a site has lots of pics and all, then, it would increase the amount of time taken to download the files.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 www.adslguide.org.uk[/url'] has one. And I'm assuming this one is innacurate for the US, right?
