Indeed. And that suggests, but does not necessarily require, that both same sex marriage and opposite sex marriage both fall into the category of marriage. (If you'd like, I can give you examples in biological common names where the name falsely suggests belonging to a certain category.)

 

And as you call them slightly different names as JohnB suggested, I too rest my (or his) case.

 

If it weren't for the term "marriage" appearing in our laws, this would be an entirely semantic issue.

How about a one-sex marriage for the same-sexers and a two-sex marriage for the dif-sexers? But wouldn't that mean that a one-sex marriage is only half a marriage...if you can go all the way to two for the maximum effect?

Care to rephrase that in a way that *doesn't* sound like you're calling gay relationships inferior?
