mossoi Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 The page and contents load quickly and that's all good but each page seems to continue loading something for several minutes after everything relevant appears to have loaded (this is on a T1 connection so it's not a connection speed issue). Not sure what it is but it's annoying and somewhat disconcerting (just what IS it loading in the background?) especially as there are adverts on display which can include all sorts of nasties.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 The ads contain spyware, you know, according to the program I got (Spybot- Search and Destroy). Fortunately it blocks them...
Sayonara Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 At home I block everything 3rd party (cookies, images etc) while browsing SFN anyway. Go go super Mozilla-based browser action!
mossoi Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 Yeah - I've got them blocked as well but it's maybe not the best thing to have on the site.
Dave Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Don't really see the problem with them tbh; there are methods of blocking them out, so if you want to block em out, then that's your decision. They don't really seem to affect me too much.
blike Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 They're only there for another month or so (not sure how long is left in the term). I know the google ads don't contain spyware. I don't think the other one's do either.
