Sconesnatcher Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Is the heat of formation the same as the enthalpy of formation or do you define heat of formation as the "heat" change of a reaction when 1 mole of a substance is formed from its elements in their standard state.
hermanntrude Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 heat of formation is an older term for the same thing. Enthalpy is not quite the same as heat but often very similar.
