I am not focusing over the amount of time it is, I am focusing on how to do what the OP asked. Since his question didnt express any doubt that we will be alive in a million years, I did not express any either.

 

Oh, I completely understand. Please don't get me wrong. It's just that the sheer vastness of the time scale really hit me (like a shovel to the face) when I thought about your proposal to simply keep telling each new generation of children the message (in a whisper game fashion), and stress the importance so they too would pass it on. It really crystallized for me just how very long we're talking here.

What about an underground base made out of depleted uranium. Bury deep enough that it not a hazard but still traceable. Isn't the half life pretty good for DU?
