the guy Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 hey guys i saw this video on youtube: if you are having trouble loading it it basically says that you can unlock a car by making a hole in tennis ball, lining up the hole with the lock and pressing really hard. i've read comments and seen videos and some people say it doesn't work, some people say you have to do it right and some people say it only works with certain cars. does anyone know the answer to whetherit is completely fake or works on certain cars or whatever? because it seems a little unlikely to me but so many people say its true:confused:
cameron marical Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 They did It on Mythbusters and said It was not true. Here Is the link. Although to me, It actually does seem logical. The air pressure from the ball goes In and pushes the little bars In the lock up to the top. Though I think It Is not just the top part that the bars need to go Up to, Its a set spot that "only the key knows", though, I do not know that much about locks, so I can be totally wrong.
SH3RL0CK Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 The Mythbusters people, while entertainers and not scientists, usually get things right IMO. I cannot see how the air pressure could 1) move the tumbers significantly and 2) align them correctly. Seems impossible to me. I think a brick is more like to gain you access to the car than a tennis ball
Sayonara Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 This information has been in the public domain for so long that I suspect that even if it was at one time true, no cars manufactured in say the last decade will be vulnerable to it.
YT2095 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 ^^^wot he said ^^^ it`s simply not true anymore, Now you have to use the Airbag bump to auto-unlock (too noisy don`t bother!).
