1. What is the purpose of blending the plant/animal material with water and salt?

2. What is the rationale in adding liquid detergent to the mixture?

3. Why do you need to add meat tenderizer or pineapple juice?

4. Explain the formation of two layers as you add alcohol to the mixture.

5. What is found on the bottom layer of the alcohol-plant/animal mixture? How about in the top layer? Why?
