I have posted same kind of question in my thread about windows and mac, but it somhow is deleted by the moderator.......maybe the thread is too long?

Any way, my question is, since Mac has a OS of a kernel of Unix, Can I run OS like Linspire on it? since it is a typical linux OS which operates Windows softwares......

If not so, then for personal many wondering,,, why Mac dont make a computer which is compatible to Windows softwares?

or

why dont IBM/Motorola make the CPU that will run on windows?

It is just like there is no two advantages for one good... :-(

if I can install linspire on Mac and it runs on Windows software, I mostly will consider my next laptop will be Mac...

Any help?

apreciated in advance

There's really no point trying to force a non-Mac operating system to run on a Mac. Why would anyone want to do that?

That's like buying a high-end car, removing the engine, and forcing in another engine that isn't completely compatible and runs better in the cheaper car it's meant to be inside.

well, it is just the OS is different Sayo...

I am not sure, but both of their kernel is the same, which Unix....

so, theoritically, Lindows can also be very compatible to PowePc.....

Any way, any help in advance to my first message?

Apreciate for the responds

The kernel has the same origins, but the hardware architecture is totally different. An OS can't be run on hardware it doesn't understand.

The kernel isn't hardware. You would not be useing the same kernel, just a different kernel that evolved from the same place.

does not Linux run on Mac also?

Some versions are specially compiled to run on a PPC processor, for example:

http://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/

Lindows can also be very compatible to PowePc.....

To my knowledge there are no PPC ports of Linspire. It's purely x86.
