swaha Posted July 18, 2009 Share Posted July 18, 2009 nucleus of an atom is the densest part for much of the rest is a vaccum. still density of nucleus is not as great so as to even stop lights to escape. does it mean within blackholes nucleus gets squeezed for any other arrangement i suppose the volume will be greater. if soth can be squeezed=> there must be some things within it too. ie protons etc are not fundamental. am i right by any chance? please explain. Klaynos Posted July 19, 2009 Share Posted July 19, 2009 Our current understanding of black holes is that all the mass inside them collapses into a singularity, that's a single dimensionless point, it has 0 volume. The gravitational force overcomes all the other fundamental forces. It is commonly thought by physicists that this isn't really true, because no singularity has ever been shown to be physically real, it is hoped that when there is some quantum theory of gravity the singularity will be smeared out, until then it is really impossible to answer your question.
