Physman Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 All time must move as fast as light to be existent in the present (as opposed to being in the future). Although why would it need to be faster? What if time did NOT travel in a direction of propagation much like light does. I believe it is more reasonable to think of constant time. So insteadof time keeping up with light it could be a "medium" for it.
gokul.er137 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 possible. getting a time field into the concept would ease the calculations as far as I know provided it does not get into the way of GR
Physman Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 I believe tis might be true although I think it is more reasonable to not think of time as a physical charectaristic of the universe, but more of a medium or essence.
gokul.er137 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 that idea for the most part of it got done with after maxwell. But they have not gone far enough to actually treat it like a medium or field or something like that.
Physman Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 yes maxwell did clear that foggy image up. But I am not talking about it from a physical standpoint, but more that time is just the way light and any other object can move but light is just a great example of a constant that everything can be compared to in velocity.
Martin Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 All time must move as fast as light to be existent... Too vague for a physics forum. Also the idea of time "moving" is outside the range of ordinary physics discourse. This is a personal idea more appropriate to Spec forum.
