insane_alien Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 everytime i try to use the 'new posts' function the forum returns an out of memory error. i've seen this happen with carnac before but not the search function.
D H Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 The same problem appeared for me but then magically disappeared.
insane_alien Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 i'm still getting them Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 64 bytes) in /www/scienceforums.net/html/forum/includes/functions.php on line 243 thats the sort of thing i'm getting if it helps.
iNow Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I just got it when I tried to go from page 1 to page 2 on the "Today's Posts" search results... Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /www/scienceforums.net/html/forum/includes/functions.php on line 243
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 That's only six megabytes... the memory limit is supposed to be much higher than that. I'll look into it.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Yeah, I forgot to copy the last digit, so I came out a bit low. Very odd. I'll see if I can find the problem.
StringJunky Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I've just had the same problem trying to access page 2 of Today's Posts. I can access page 3 and 1. I've restarted firefox and tried again to access page 2 with the same fatal error.
insane_alien Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 seems to have passed now you must hav jiggled the right gizmo on the thingymatron 5000
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 In other words, "you must have sat around cluelessly hoping to figure out what's going on until it fixed itself."
Theophrastus Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Odd, it still doesn't seem to work for me; when ever I press on organic chemistry, I attain: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 524288 bytes) in /www/scienceforums.net/html/forum/includes/functions.php on line 243 Odd, very odd....
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) Let me know if you get any more. I just edited the offending function to use built-in PHP functions instead of the weird hack Jelsoft had implemented. It should no longer give problems. Edited August 8, 2009 by Cap'n Refsmmat 1
