Sayonara Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Dear Sir' date='I object to your choice of top 10 films as everyone knows that they are utter rubbish. I demand that you withdraw them rite now .[/quote'] Despite being highly derivative, Equilibrium is a fine film. The others can rot in hell though.
bloodhound Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 is the "Eagle has landed" based on the book for the same title by Jack Higgins.
AtomicMX Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 That one, i read the book first... the book had more action than the movie thought, but the movie was quite good.
bloodhound Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 yeah loved that book. isnt that book the sequel to something called "The flight of eagle " or something similar. cant remember the name.
Solaris Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 That was the top 10 fictional movies! Now here is the list of non-fictional(and they do NOT suck): 1---51st State 2---Next Friday 3---Ali G 4---Enemy of the state 5---The Recruit 6---S.W.A.T 7---Super troopers 8---etc... If Einstein didn'd actualy said that, then WHO did?
AtomicMX Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 it was the eagles has landed first then the eagle has flown... and if you get it.. please tell me, i am dying for reading it. (i also suggest you a book of jack higgins named "Bad Company")
JaKiri Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 no, it's not fictional! I think you'll find they're all fictional. 'Fiction' merely means that it didn't actuall happen, not that it's set in a real-world context.
bloodhound Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 it was the eagles has landed first then the eagle has flown... and if you get it.. please tell me' date=' i am dying for reading it. (i also suggest you a book of jack higgins named "Bad Company")[/quote'] my local library had quite a few of his books. so i probably read most of his books. it gets quite repetive after a while though. the two eagles were probably his best work. there is another one. "The night of the fox" . really good as well.
Solaris Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Well ya, but aren't all movies fictional if you think this way?
Solaris Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 BASED on true stories, not following the actual flow of events.
bloodhound Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 and what are the likes of ali g based on to make them non fictional
Solaris Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Fiction means something that is not real. In this case the script is made up, but phiscaly it exists so it's not fiuctional.
bloodhound Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 script isnt physical. the paper onto which the script is printed is physical. the script itself exists as a pigment of someones imagination
Sayonara Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Ali G is a fictional character. He does not and never did exist.
Solaris Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 "the script itself EXISTS " so how can it be fictional if it EXISTS?
bloodhound Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 the distiction between fiction and non fiction isnt whether the script exists or not. why dont u just admit that u made a mistake quoting all those films to be non fictional
Solaris Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Dude why don't u wach a movie just for the pleasure of watching it and not judjing if it's fictional or not. maybe I did a mistake because I must have said non-SF movies.
bloodhound Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 uuummm.... i was just correcting ur statement that they were non fictional. i never questioned the films themselves. ur the one who started all these philosophical nonsense.
Sayonara Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Dude why don't u wach a movie just for the pleasure of watching it and not judjing if it's fictional or not. maybe I did a mistake because I must have said non-SF movies. You do realise there is a difference between non-fiction, and stories based on real events? A screenplay, and definitely a script, is inherently fiction.
atinymonkey Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 I think he meant science fiction, as opposed to actual fiction. It's not very well put across tho.
