padren Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Found this and thought it may be of interest to some of us here: http://www.hellofromearth.net/ This site is collecting messages that will be sent to Gliese 581d, a planet outside our Solar System which may support life. Register here to send your message before the deadline: 5pm Monday 24 August 2009 Sydney time (07:00 GMT Monday 24 August 2009) I would have posted in "Astronomy and Cosmology" but I figured this is really more pop culture with a astro-sci twist than anything pertinent to the discussions there. Would "Congratulations on banging the rocks together, guys" be appropriate? Anyone who needed that tip would miss it.
ydoaPs Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 It should probably be something in the way of the Aricebo message.
ajb Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 "Live long and prosper" would make a good message, right ydoaPs?
iNow Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 "Leave us alone. We can't even find ways to get along with ourselves, let alone you guys from another planet."
ydoaPs Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 "Leave us alone. We can't even find ways to get along with ourselves, let alone you guys from another planet." So, we're gonna beam out a copy of Rosetta Stone for English first? Merged post follows: Consecutive posts merged"Live long and prosper" would make a good message, right ydoaPs? Quite so.
