Love him, hate him, worry about him accidentally driving off a Marthas Vineyard pier and killing innocent women, the man has been a fixture of the American political system for decades. He will be missed.

Well put. I often disagreed with his politics, but his place in history is incontrovertible.

 

Interesting story today about political swirl regarding the appointment of a successor, which comes at a critical time due to the pending votes on health care this fall. I guess the Senate is below its 60-seat filibuster-proof majority now.
