sarah Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Hi, we have a project due that must meet the following criteria: Egg Launcher Must be a stand alone operation. Has to deliver a single egg over a distance of 20 ft. Egg--Grade Large A Egg must achieve a minimum height of 10ft Egg must achieve free flight for at least 10ft Egg must be "released" by the system at a height of no more than 2ft Egg must land and remain in a circular target area with a diameter of 3ft. Egg must remain UNBROKEN 50% of the egg must be open to the air and visible. The system must be reusable and have a "refresh rate" of nor more than 3 minutes. The system must come packed such that it can be dropped from a distance of 4ft and still be operatioal. The system must be assembled and ready for fire in less than 10 min. The system must weigh less than 20 pounds (including packaging). The system must be easy enough to teach anyone else how to launch it within 30 min. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
iNow Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Hi Sarah, First, welcome to SFN. There are a lot of really bright contributors here who all enjoy helping others and sharing knowledge. You've come to the right place. Second, have you tried the search feature? The question about egg launchers comes up here often. What I suggest is that you first explore the existing threads on this topic. Just go here: http://www.scienceforums.net/forum/search.php ... and type "egg launcher" into the search box and submit. You can explore all of the other ideas and suggestions which have already been made to others who have asked a similar question. (Also... If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of this page of the thread you just created, you will see how the software of this site has already performed a search for similar topics, and presented five threads for you... That's another good place to start.) Then, if you have a specific question or problem, be sure to come back here and ask. It may take several hours, or even a few days, but if someone knows the answer to your question they will generally login to share that answer with you. Have fun.
