nahiyan Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 can an infrared transmitter send signals to the infrared receiver if an object is in the way? Please answer my question and give me a suggestion whether i should use radio control system or infrared system for the car i am building.
baxtonduglonn Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Infra-red can be reflected from other objects, e.g. pointing the TV remote control at the ceiling will still control the TV. For reliable control I would use radio.
Mr Skeptic Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Infrared can pass through some objects opaque to other light (but not others), but I'm pretty sure radio will be better for a remote controlled car.
