TBK, I think your system might differ from ours. Down here propective teachers spend 3-4 years getting a degree in education before going out to a school.

 

We have some incompetent teachers too. I have to wonder how they got their degree in the first place.

 

Surely they didn't suddenly become dolts once they were employed?

 

So to be fair, the problem is a bit deeper than it might at first seem. (I think.)

 

People are getting teaching qualifications who shouldn't.

Unions are defending people they shouldn't. and

Administrators are keeping people they shouldn't.

We need some sort of major education reform at all levels..( in every country of the world)
