Freeman Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Does anyone know any good books or websites that explain gravity and electromagnitivity well?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 I know of a book called: Newton, Einstein, and Gravitation and it's pretty good for that.
Freeman Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 I found a book called "standing on the shoulders of giants" by Prof. Hawking, has anyone heard of it? It looks interesting, there's the works of Newton, Einstein, Galileo, and -I believe it is- Ptolemy(?).
JaKiri Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 The Elegant Universe has a good 'grounding' section in it before it gets onto string 'theory'.
coquina Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 If you are interested in gravity and magnetics as they apply to geology, there is an interesting web page here: http://www.gravmag.com/gmprimr.html
fuhrerkeebs Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 "Mathematical physics" by "Donald H. Menzel" is a good book on electromagnetism and gravity. It has sections for both classical electromagnetism and GR.
