this is my first post so im new here and new to this kind of stuff so anyway i made a solution of sodium chloride, vinger and water. my anode and cathode are copper it was dissolveing the copper wire on the positive end for about 10 mins i kept putting more copper on. and something wierd happend at the negitve end it bubbling up bright yellow and have know idea what that is please tell me thank you.:)

cautiously smell it (waft a small amount toward your nose with your hand. It's probably chlorine. A concentrated salt solution will electrolyse to form chlorine and hydrogen. be careful with chlorine it's highly toxic and quite unpleasant. it's also yellow. The vinegar probably didnt do much at all.

 

be careful messing around with chemistry. it seems that you're not very experienced and that can be extremely dangerous.
