Can anybody help me work out how to make a steam generator.

OK, what do you need help with? There are several approaches to make one, and I don't know the most effective way, but I know the way to make several.

OK, lemme try to draw up some diagrams for a bbq powered steam engine...

OK, its kinda weird, charcoal/coal/wood powered steam engine.

List of what you need:

About 100 or so bricks

Metal barrel

Fire clay

Water

Copper coil

magnet

pipe

turbine

and more pipe.

I have given several letters to what I couldn't draw very well:

a- turbine

b- the fire

c- the water barrel

d- the generator, that is a copper coil mounted around the end of a pipe. The pipe rotates when the turbine does, I would suggest PVP pipe or aluminum pipe.

e- recondenser that brings the steam back into c.

 

You'll also need a metal barrel.

 

The fire is surrounded by bricks and fire clay interior. The fire clay should also be used to fill the gap between the barrel and the fire pit.

Sorry, we weren't talking to you, just to linl.

Why don't you just use a submersible pump? Run your steam through the impeller to a condenser and then back to the boiler at your discretion.....Motor produces current. Of course youd need a relief valve on the boiler, but that goes without saying.

Where do you propose to find a submarine pump?
