devrimci_kürt Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 is friction a conservative force or is it a nonconservative force? why?
dttom Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I think it depends on cases, as it is not in case of sliding, but it is in case of rolling; without friction, no rolling could be done, and the frictional force acts through a torque to assist rolling.
swansont Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 is friction a conservative force or is it a nonconservative force? why? Given motion between two arbitrary points, does the energy transferred depend on the path traveled?
