Good Evening.

Not having any science back ground I am looking for some assistance please. Is there a ph paper test that is able to determine the concentration levels of pottassium acetate (clearway 3 a runway de-icer) on a given area? if anyone is able to point me in the right direction I would appreciate it emmensly

Potassium Acetate is an acidic salt, according to General Chemistry, by professers Whitten and Gaily the definition of salts are compounds that contain the cation of a base and the anion of an acid. Potassium is the cation of potassium hydroxide (KOH) and acetate is the anion of acetic acid (CH3COOH). Now, an acidic salt is

If less than the stoichiometric amounts of bases react with polyprotic acids, the resulting salts are known as acidic salts because they are still capable of neutalizing bases.

KOH is a strong base and acetic acid is a weak acid. So, when you combine KOH with HC2H3O2, the compound you will get (potassium acetate) is slightly basic, then a pH test should work with potassium acetate in an aqueous solution. :D

please don't post the same thing twice.

I do not understand what you mean? Could you please explain.

Thank You, :)
