blike Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Sit up straight in your chair. Lift your right foot off the ground and move it in clockwise circles. Now, draw the number 6 in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change directions. LOLLYROFFLE!
budullewraagh Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 hmm. first time i tried i did it without changing directions. then i tried and half the time it worked, half it didnt
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Ha ha, your leg got fooled! erm, sorry, I couldn't resist. Why would it do that anyways?
atinymonkey Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 It didn't work. I'm different' date=' so there![/quote'] I suspect that either you don't know your left from right, clockwise from counter clockwise or you have a severe problems with your motor control skills.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 No, it did nothing to me, and I'm normal in all of those respects.
hierarch Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 It always works when I draw the number 6 in the air with my right hand. Interesting. But how to explain it?
Dave Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 Your brain probably just gets confused, trying to concentrate on 2 things at once.
JaKiri Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 You could explain it by saying that the brain can only do one 'rotation' type motion in each half of your body at once. Although without any proof or mechanism, it's a fairly truistic explanation.
Sayonara Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 If you start the six in the middle rather than at the top, you won't get the whole conflict thing going on.
Tesseract Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 I can make one six without messing up, but no more after that.
aommaster Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 If you start the six in the middle rather than at the top, you won't get the whole conflict thing going on. Yeah, I think it depends on the way that you write a 6. If you start on the middle, and go clockwise, it won't happen. But, for people like me, I start at the top, and my leg has to change direction to write it.
