is hydrolysis ph dependent?

Featured Replies

Quite frankly I have no idea but would this equation work for it. I'm not sure wait for someone to clarify.

H20<----> H+ + OH-

Add acid more H+ and more water produced meaning less reaction. This is a total guess!!

Hydrolysis of what? Esters?

Draw out the mechanism and look for a step that might involve an acid or base.

Lewis acids?

Look at the reactants and products with regards to Le Chatlier's principle.

I am not sure about the context of the question. You are talking about the extent of the reaction as that in eqm or the rate or any other aspect?
