Severian Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Here are the ATLAS ones: http://atlas.web.cern.ch/Atlas/public/EVTDISPLAY/events.html
Robin Hood Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 We had a bit of fun with our new video to mark the LHC being switched on again... Some nice explanations too though, in my unbiased opinion...
iNow Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Here are the ATLAS ones:http://atlas.web.cern.ch/Atlas/public/EVTDISPLAY/events.html What's the mood been like over there, Severian? Has everyone been in high spirits and all amped up this week?
timo Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 What's the mood been like over there, Severian? Has everyone been in high spirits and all amped up this week? He he, that's what you get for posting lhc detector pictures and calling it your lab
Severian Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 (edited) What's the mood been like over there, Severian? Has everyone been in high spirits and all amped up this week? It has been surprisingly muted actually. I think everyone is petrified that it is going to crash again. Even that picture I linked to was not allowed to be shown to the public today (I had it yesterday), so everyone is being quite careful. He he, that's what you get for posting lhc detector pictures and calling it your lab And for the record, I am a particle physicist and I do work on the LHC. I am just not based at CERN at the moment (though I was a few years ago). Edited November 24, 2009 by Severian
Zolar V Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 omg that is soo awesome. what did it take to get to work there
DJBruce Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 omg that is soo awesome. what did it take to get to work there I am not sure the exact standards for getting a job. However, I know some universities have REU programs that allow students to work at CERN over the summer. I know for a fact that the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor has such a program.
