bigbadjesus
Are there any theories out there that describe the properties of matter in theoretical higher dimensions? Specifically 3 dimensional time, two dimensional 'space.' (or time-space)
ajb
We currently believe that quantum field theory is the best way to describe matter and forces. It is possible to formulate some of this in space-times of arbitrary signatures, i.e. more than one time. In fact you do this when discussing twistors, but this is a different matter. I am not sure if there are any underlying problems with quantisation with more than one time. There maybe, I would have to look that up.
