scilearner Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 In the sympathetic nervous system, is it the dorsal (sensory, afferent) roots of sympathetic nerves that give the sensory information to the CNS about sympathetic things or do they only do the action? Thanks!!
jake.com Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 In the sympathetic nervous system, is it the dorsal (sensory, afferent) roots of sympathetic nerves that give the sensory information to the CNS about sympathetic things or do they only do the action? Thanks!! The sympathetic nervous system only performs the actions. The sensory information is interpreted by the brain, which is sent to the parasympathetic and sypathetic nervous systems to perform their specific actions. The systems themselves cannot recieve sensory information directly.
