simindokht Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 is there any differences between using nitrate or chlorid of Tm for complexation with chelating agents? Merged post follows: Consecutive posts mergedI found it no there is not
John Cuthber Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 There might be a difference. Some complex nitrates are explosive. The nitrate can oxidise the complexing agent. Just something to be aware of. Also, making some complexes is easier if you do it in the absense of water. I would rather try to get anhydrous TmCl3 than "Tm(NO3)3 " as an anhydrous salt.
