prest88 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Hello all I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or links to relevant material on any advances in peer to peer architectures? Mainly I am looking at Hybrid and Decentralised systems and if there are any areas these systems could be improved?? I am currently writing a report and my computer science skills are not the greatest so trying to find some modern techniques in this areathat i can actuall comprehend is proving difficult!! Any Help would be amazing!! Thanks Guys
bascule Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Distributed Hash Tables are probably the central topic in peer-to-peer systems today. There's also the P4P protocol which allows ISPs to both improve their customers' participation in peer-to-peer transfers but also more efficiently use the network.
prest88 Posted January 9, 2010 Author Posted January 9, 2010 Thanks, Do you know anything, more specifically to do with file sharing networks, such as limewire using the gnutella network or bittorrents. I need a small area that is being improved or changed just to slightly improve the performance. Im not a massive techy guy so sorry if this sounds like rubbish. thanks again!
