What are your opinions and views on China or other countries like your own country? Talk here.

I don't think foreign would go to the mainland deeply.

The hygiene, safety has no "warrency".

Also, the system practises communism and socialism but practise like totalitarianism and cause corruption.

No people can talk about affairs of China loudly, even speaking.

I'm very lucky to live in HK.

It does not have this problem. Also, the freedom of commercial is also rank the first rather than the US (rank 2).

I have to say that the only articles I've read about Chinese political policy have been via el reg, and that's hardly a good source for unbiased political text. However, I don't agree with their entire approach of stonewalling everyone and feeding the people with selective information that shows the Government in a good light.

I'm also moving this to the Politics forum since I think it's a better home than GD.

china is a potential powerhouse like none other. it also controls a great deal of the global economy. i predict that china will either become the dominating force in the global economy or it will crash and send the world into a terrible downward spin.

China already is the dominating force in the Global Economy. America may be the only other Superpower, but it can't touch the sheer scale of China. It also helps that the government holds the power and the money in China, unlike the US where the presidency is bought and the cash base held by the private citizens.

It's only because China is an introverted communist country that they haven't thought about taking control of the world economy.

They may be only one fearless leader away from that.

There was a conspiracy theory in one of the other threads which I'll flesh out further: China smuggles millions of troops into every major country in specially designed COSCO containers, then has them all Trojan Horse on the same day, spreading the retaliating troops too thin to be effective against them. Once they are on your native turf they become very hard to deal with without extensive collateral damage. Instant world domination! :)

Never heard that conspiracy theory before, but I know a guy who's living in Dalian right now who says that all the Chinese say that the US is just a 'paper tiger'. He also said that Sun-Tzu wrote 'when you are strong, act like you are weak; when you are weak act like you are strong". He says China could squash the USA like a bug, even now. (not in 20yrs or whatever)

I worry that in creating a society of docile workers who don't question authority, those who control the purse-strings have weakened the whole country, making it ripe for economic and social overthrow.

china could crush the us now by not giving us loans.

also, china isn't nearly as socialist or authoritarian as it used to be, so they aren't all "docile workers who don't question authority"

Communism defeats individual drive and spirit, but mega-corporation Capitalism strangles small business, which will eventually lead to decreased drive and spirit. What's the best compromise between Communism and Capitalism?

China isn't socialist at all, it makes the USA look like a workers paradise! It is more authoritarian than ever though.
