The most famous haiku in the world is “furu ike ya (5 words)/ kawazu tobikomu (7 words)/ mizu no oto (5 words)” written by Matsuo Basho (1644-1694).

The meaning of the poet in English is “an ancient pond / a frog jumps in / the splash of water”.

It represents tranquility; if you hear an insensible sound, you feel tranquility more than ever.

It is an example of “Wabi-sabi” world.
