Tranquility Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Hi all, watched this Horizon episode recently and was really impressed, thought I'd post the links to it for others interested in fusion energy. BBC Horizon: Can we make a star on Earth? Part one Part two Part three Part four Part five Part six I don't know what you lot think but I tend to agree with the presenter, fusion could well be our only hope. Merged post follows: Consecutive posts mergedJust wondering if anyone has any info on how these fusion reactors (JET, KSTAR, etc) are performing?
seouldavid Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I watched some of the video clips. They are very interesting.
DrP Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I read this in the times the other day: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/science/article7034945.ece Quite exciting. UK are building a fusion plant to finalise and tweak the technology. The plant will be big enough that when the research has finnished and the procedure finalised the plant can be hooked up to the national grid and will run as a power station.
