Cap'n Refsmmat Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Why are there so many "Registered User"s intstead of the normal title tree?
Sayonara Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Presumably the script that allocates the first rank to new users is borked.
Severian Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Since I can't post new threads this seems an appropriate place to comment.... When I look at my 'posting rules' I have: You may not post new threads You may post replies You may post attachments You may not edit your posts I have tried logging out and in again, and no change. I seem to remember something about needing to reply to an email which I would be sent on registering. If this is the problem, I never got the email, and I can think of 2 possible reasons: 1. I mistyped my email address. 2. My spam-filter ate it. Could a mod please send my a PM confirming my email address and then resend it? Cheers
YT2095 Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 THIS may have something to do with it: "Sorry! That user has specified that they do not wish to receive emails. If you still wish to send an email to this user, please contact the administrator and they may be able to help." waddaya think?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted August 9, 2004 Author Posted August 9, 2004 That's just a setting you can have. I set mine to do that too.
YT2095 Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 he said: "Could a mod please send my a PM confirming my email address and then resend it?" well the answer would be "YES", IF that setting wasn`t as such, and so, he`s shot himself in the foot there
Sayonara Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 PM sent as requested Severian. Let me know if it's correct or not.
YT2095 Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Sayo, you Cheat! LOL let me explain to the posters that he`s Admin, and so a Mod cannot bypass the email thingy, asking one of us is pointless. that at least should set the record straight
Sayonara Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 I'm not sure what you're talking about, but all mods have access to the User Options page. Unless by "email" you actually mean "PM". You're confusing me.
YT2095 Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 I went to to the "public profile" and then to email this person, it was denied, hence the msg I pasted. I rarely to never go into peoples user options anyway, and so I`m not entirely "Oh Fay, lol" with it.
Dave Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Another suggestion would be one of Sayo's threads, which said to clear all of the cookies from your browser and kill your cache.
Sayonara Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Severian is still in the "awaiting confirmation" user group.
Dave Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Ah, that would be the problem then. Ignore my uselessness
Severian Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Sorry - I was assuming 'admin' and 'mod' were interchangable. Thanks Sayonara3 - I got your PM and the email address you have is correct. I don't understand how I didn't get the confirmation email. The only thing I can think of is my spam filter, but since I have had 3 emails offering viagra this morning I don't think it can be that tight. Edit: great - I can edit now - thanks a lot!
