Mouse Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I just heard that fungi can dissolve substances like plastic, metal.etc How do they do it? Can they probably dissolve Iron Oxide too?
dttom Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I think this could only be done with suitable enzyme, some plastics could be degraded by bacteria like polylactate, but what about metal? degrading metal, is it equivalent to oxidising it so that it dissolves as ions? think so.
