scilearner
Hello guys, I checked coagulation but I can't find the explanation of how blood (serum) suddenly turn into solid? How does this occur? Thank you!!
Sisyphus
Liquids don't become solid in coagulation. The clot is made up of solids that are ordinarily carried along by the liquids. Disclaimer: I know very little about the actual mechanisms.
dttom
the clot is the fibrin network that initiated by tissue factors, calcium ion, platelet granule release .etc.
ecoli
the clot is the fibrin network that initiated by tissue factors, calcium ion, platelet granule release .etc. Note to the OP though, serum is blood plasma with these fibrinogens removed
