abbyabbigail Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 What is the balanced equation for NaH2PO4 + H2O? Is it NaH2PO4 + H2O ----> PO4^3- + H3O^+ + 2Na^+ ?
dttom Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 You're correct in recognising monosodium phosphate is an acid salt. There are two ionisable hydrogen atom in H2PO4-, so there should be stepwise hydrogen dissociation.
