iNow Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Is there any evidence of complex communication among squid(giant and/or normal)? I would amend the above slightly to ask, "beyond the visual information communicated by their bioluminescent displays." As an add-on, we might ask "what type of progress have we made in interpreting those visual displays."
the tree Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 What as of yet unanswered questions in oceanography would you realistically hope to see answers to in your lifetime? Are there famous unsolved problems for oceanographers like there are for physicists?
ydoaPs Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 What as of yet unanswered questions in oceanography would you realistically hope to see answers to in your lifetime? Are there famous unsolved problems for oceanographers like there are for physicists? I actually sent out the questions not 10 minutes ago. I could use this in the follow-up, though.
Moontanman Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 No! I wanted to know how long giant squids live!
Rickdog Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 What`s the size of its larvae ? Do they form part of the surface`s zooplankton ?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Thanks, everyone! As ydoaPs pointed out above, we've sent along the best questions to Dr. O'Shea, and we'll post the answers as soon as we've received them. Suspense!
