to get Cu2O from CuCl?

I don't think copper (I) hydroxide is a valid compound : /

 

"Additives such as water and acids... oxid[ize CuO] to copper(II) oxides."

Thus, you'd end up with CuO from Cu(OH)2

Edit: nevermind, the same page says "Aqueous cuprous chloride solutions react with base to give [Cu2O]"
