toastywombel Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Is it true that one's capacity to study things is independent of the knowledge acquired through education? No, its not totally independent. For example it is necessary to know algebra before going into calculus. Or it is necessary to know how to use a computer (through being taught) before you can study anything on the internet.
Mr Skeptic Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 You certainly don't need a formal education to study things, but you do need to learn pre-requisites before studying more advanced topics. Math is probably the most important of the pre-requisites, and is applicable to all sciences and many non-science fields as well.
