Horza2002 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 My PS3 seems to freeze from time to time and then I have to turn it off and and on again before it works. Does anyone know why this happens??
Mr Skeptic Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 That's a rather generic problem. Anything that slowly corrupts data bits will cause this sort of problem. It could be a program that "leaks" memory, faulty components, overheating due to poor ventilation. About how long does it go before it freezes?
Horza2002 Posted May 12, 2010 Author Posted May 12, 2010 It depends...somedays it doesnt freeze at all, other day it freezes the first time i put it on and play for about 15mins then not again after....
Pangloss Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Does it only happen with disc-based games? That would suggest a disc player problem. I had a bad player on my first one and had to get it repaired. Does it only happen in a certain game? That would suggest a problem with that game. Does it only happen while connected in an online game? That would suggest a problem with your Internet connection. If none of the above, I agree with Mr Skeptic that it sounds like an overheating issue. The fan may be broken or clogged with dust (take a look at the vent). You may need to have it repaired or replaced.
Horza2002 Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 It's mainly FIFA 10 and Battlefield 2 it freezes with....abd they are both disc based games so it might be that. Thanks
